Another update

Okay i really should keep up to date with this thing.

So if you kept up with the Twitter updates you'll see i went travelling again late last month/earlier this month - up north to Manchester for Manchester Pride.

However... I didn't have as good a time as i did when i went down south to Brighton. I met some great people, some i already met, others i hadn't. On the Saturday night there was this after-pride party at the University of Manchester where the goal was to stay up as late as possible, which was fun! I managed to stay up to 3am, well more like 4am by the time i got back to my room (which was very nice). Didn't get any, lol.

Reason it wasn't so good... well it turns out i have a mild form of depression...Well so the doctor says, but it was really bad over the weekend. Sometimes I just stayed in my room crying... I'm not so bad now, but it sometimes spikes up. Its not constant thankfully, and its not affecting my daily life *too much*.

Okay really should of updated last week. In summary - it was fantastic!

Friday night was a meet up with some guys (could probably say friends now) from a forum i go. Had a fair few drinks... I pulled :)

Saturday was the parade. Took plenty of pics -
http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=132809&id=658498622&l=b511bb5272

After the parade met up in the park. It was wet, but we had fun drinking and messing around.

Sunday was a bit more quiet. Met up in a café in the morning, one of the group (same person from Friday night actually :)) moved his stuff into my room for the last night. After that we went for some more drinks, before another night of fun, lol.

Monday morning was... well it was time to go :( Squeezed in some more fun, then had to go home.

Overall i had a great time, will be going back next year!

Phone line on the fritz

So it seems. Either it cuts out completely at random times, which until we finally unplugged it tripped the warning alarm on mums security alarm thing (so if she, say fell out of bed and noone else was here she could push a button and get help). 3 times it went off, 3:30, 5 and 5:30 am. Oiiiiii. (and last night aswell, but that wasnt so bad - 7PM)

Or as it seems right now, with the alarm unplugged, is very noisy. So bad im amazed ADSL is working actually.

Im going to change the ADSL filter, just in case it is somehow that, but i get the feeling its where BT extended the line from the old fixed box to pluginable one (not sure of the correct term). They put the wire under the carpet guard under the living room door. I dread to think how many times that has been walked on over the years!

Oh well, time to figure out who to ring up about this mess.

I haven't really made any entries this week. Its just been very "meh" all round.

It sometimes feels like its just all getting too much, like just when things are looking up something else goes wrong.

Someone out there is having a great big laugh at my expense - and im getting sick of it.

I think within the next year or so im going to make a fresh start. Move away from home, with all its bad memories to somewhere new, fresh, exciting! Somewhere where theres actually places to go at night, instead of just sitting at home bored to death.

I just have no idea where yet.

-------

Anyway did watch some anime and some films this week. Elemental Gelade vol 2 and Noein ~to your other self~ vol 3 where watched. Noein is great. Its something special, Manga have a real gold title on there hands there.

In terms of Films, ive been catching up with some Japanese movies ive had sitting around for a while. Battle Royale and the incredibly weird (yet very, very awesome) Survive Style 5+.

"What is your function?" (seriously, Vinnie Jones - never knew he was so good, lol)

Proof, if anyone needed it, that i can watch things subtitled. I just prefer to watch my anime dubbed.

Hotel room (or should i say bed and breakfast) is booked. So for the week of 6th August onwards ill be in sunny (hopefully >_>) Brighton!

Am i excited? You bet!

Also a bit nervous - this will be the first time ive gone on holiday by myself, and the second time ive been on holiday without the 'rents (first was a trip to Disney Land Paris with my college).

Now just need to get the train ticket sorted. £25 for an standard open return.

Case in point - my passport. After frantic searching all day - i found it behind the K9 cookie jar thing in the front room.

Why it was there i have no idea.

Oh and i know i dont need my passport if im going on holiday in the country - but i need some form of ID that has my date of birth on. There is no way on earth id get into any bars/clubs without - i dont look 16, let alone 21.

Yarrr! and the such.

Saw Pirates of the Caribbean - At World's End today.

Good fun film, better than Dead Man's Chest but not quite as good as The Curse of the Black Pearl.

Im not sure why many reviews say its too long - i certainly wasnt bored during it! Great ship vs ship action at the end too (oh and was that a very obvious sex reference at the end - in a Disney film?)

----

Also - IM GOING ON HOLIDAY!!!

By myself for the first ever time. Im really excited!

I'll be going to Brighton, which is on the south coast of England. I'll most likely be staying in a Bed and Breakfast (a hotel would cost too much) but its not like i'll be spending much time in my room anyway.

I checked out how much it will cost to get there by train - i thought it would be around £40-50

Its only around £20 for a open return (up-to a month between going and coming back). So transport wont cost too much, which leaves more for accommodation and spending money.

WWDC

Aoba exhausted
Well overall WWDC was alright.

The stuff about EA making games themselves on macs was a surprise, IDs new game engine looks AWESOME (cant wait for the next demoes at E3!) and im drooling over 10.5.

Safari 3 is pretty nice too, im using the public beta now. There are some slightly annoying things - the address bar autofill has changed, and defaults to the main site URL instead of any sub-urls.

So i keep going to my livejournal instead of my LJ friends page for example.

Oh and all my auto fill info has been FORGOTTEN. F**king annoying.

----

Im thinking of going on holiday by myself this summer, if i can find somewhere to go at what is a relatively last minute time.
Lacus Clyne and Kira Yamato
Cracking episode of Doctor Who, even though The Doctor wasnt in it much.

Plus there was a real zinger at the people who moaned about the TARDIS's windows being the wrong size, hehehe.

The episode of Doctor Who Confidental that followed on BBC3 was a good 'un too, David Tennant hosted it, and it was a nice look back at Doctor Who and the writers fave moments and that.

----

New userpic, from the 2nd opening to Gundam SEED Destiny, its Lacus Clyne and Kira Yamato. I just liked the poses.

----

I managed to tell my mum today. After all my worrying, she admit she had an inkling all along. I kept it secret all these years because i was worried how they would act, and they were fine. My mum at least.

Now to tell my dad. Might wait till next week i think.....

(i bet this isnt covered by AppleCare..........)

edit - okay, okay! I got the catch out of its slot. It still works, i just need to bend it slightly the other way.

(follow up to this entry)

So i went into the big Oxford Street branch of Virgin Megastores today, to see if they would let me exchange my copy for one with the LE keyring.

Unfortunaly, they couldnt, but the guy on the till wasnt happy with the way customer service has fobbed me off, and said i would easily be able to get a refund for it (since im A: well within the money back time and B: didnt get what was promised).

So i bought one while i was there, with the keyring and special packaging, and will be retuning my other one ASAP, to get my (or should i say me dads) money back.

and it will no doubt be harder for me to say.

Im one of those awkward types. Im bisexual.

I lean more towards women than men, but tbh the person who end up with - it wouldn't matter one jot whether they are female or male.

Thing is - how will i be able to bring this up with mum and dad. Should i bring it up? Or just leave it be, and if "the one" ends up being male explain it then?

Sometimes i wish things where easier........

Tonights Doctor Who was like a rush. Whooosh! Very fast paced and action packed. Great writing from Chris Chibnail (i liked his work on Torchwood, but this was much better), great directing from Graham Harper (seriously, you wouldnt know hes the oldest director on the current series when you watch him at work during Confidential) and of course great performances from the leads.

Next weeks looks good too, and a bit confusing (Mr John Smith, school teacher?)

----

Oh and in other news, i had an eye test today. Apparently my left is very, very slightly worse than last time (2 years ago) but its not enough for me to need new lenses yet. My dad also got an eye test - his eyes are getting better! So he needs new lenses, weaker ones.

Still havent got round to reading The Handmaid's Tale yet, but i will do this week, probably once i get my Ai Yori Aoshi backlog down (vol 11-13), then i can order the next few volumes! Only got a few to go now.....

Also, i preordered Mario Strikers Charged Football for the Wii. Looking forward to it, first Mario sports game on the wii, first "proper" football game on the Wii (in a way) and the first online multiplayer game on the Wii!
Plus i got £5 off thanks to a promotion Nintendo are having with Coca-Cola. First time you enter the promotion (to win a "Wii games room") you get a £5 voucher to use on anything over £30 on GAME's website. MSCF was £34.99, so it was the obvious choice to use it on.
